Current Information and Travel Tips

NEW CURRENCY

There is a new Ghanaian currency. It is a re-demonination of the Ghana Cedi, and is called GHS. This was introduced in early 2007 to replace the existing Cedi (pron. ‘seedy’). The current exchange rate is 1GHS = $1.03 USD. For more information, have a look at the Bank of Ghana website and follow the links: www.bog.gov.gh

These exchange rates do change constantly and we suggest that you look at the following international currency site to check current rates: www.xe.com
